I was privileged enough to get involved with IF [Interactive Factual] Lab's Code Booster event recently, based in the Halle 14 art exhibition in Leipzig, Germany, with Target: BACRIM. This was an intensive week-long project development jam, with emphasis on technical development and business-style pitching, run in parallel with the DOK Leipzig interactive documentary festival and DOK Hackathon.

With documentary-maker and Journalism lecturer Mathew Charles (who couldn't attend but Skyped in remotely), scriptwriter and Digital Storytelling lecturer Brad Gyori, and UX and product designer Erika Grijalva, we produced a prototype in-game timeline editor that allows players to generate short, punchy docu-snippets that represents what elements of Colombia's paramilitary struggle narrative they want to share, whether it relates to social cleansing, extortion, or exploitation.

We pitched Target: BACRIM twice, once to the Code Booster attendees where we won the audience vote, and then to the judges of the DOK Hackathon competition, where we won the main pitching prize! With this we will soon take Target: BACRIM to Prague - watch this space!
